Online lessons
Are you interesting in taking online lessons with me to take your guitar playing to the next level? I am currently open to welcoming new students worldwide through Skype / Zoom! I have a fairly flexible schedule (Toronto – EST) however, please note that I have limited slots available each week due to the high demand.
I cater to all skill levels—whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced learner. The majority of my students are interested in either mastering my original compositions or acquiring the techniques showcased in them. I offer lessons across various styles, always tailoring my approach to align with each student's objectives. With a wealth of over 20 years in devoted guitar study and performance, I'm thrilled to have effectively mentored thousands of students around the globe with my teaching method. This has propelled them past stagnation, reigniting their passion for playing the guitar. My expertise extends to diverse genres such as fingerstyle, percussive guitar, blues, jazz, metal, pop, rock, classical, flamenco, as well as improvisation. Beyond guitar instruction, I also provide lessons in audio mixing and music production.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't feel I'm good enough to start lessons with you?
Over my two decades of teaching, I've worked with numerous students who've experienced similar doubts. I want to assure you that I'm not here to pass judgment or belittle your current skill level. My role is to support you on your musical journey, and that might involve some openness to overcome feelings of inadequacy. My teaching approach involves tailoring exercises that you can handle comfortably before gently pushing you to explore the boundaries of your abilities. It's an exciting and revealing process to witness as we embark on this journey together.
How often do I need to take lessons with you to see improvement?
It really hinges on how much time you can commit to practicing between our sessions. The more focused practice, the more progress you'll make. I consistently provide you with practical tasks to work on before our next meeting. Assuming you're putting in the practice time, I've found that aiming for 1-2 weeks between sessions strikes a good balance. This timeframe helps keep you engaged with your goals and progress. Think of it as having a workout partner – we tend to push ourselves further when we have someone else alongside us.
How intense or relaxed are the lessons?
My teaching style is adaptable to my students' preferences. Some seek a challenging, fast-paced approach to accelerate their growth, while others prefer a more laid-back, relaxed learning journey. I genuinely enjoy both approaches, as each offers valuable insights. It's worth noting that there are times when you might feel like talking more than playing, and I'm completely supportive of that. After all, a substantial aspect of our growth involves understanding the person behind the instrument.
Do you offer payment options other than Credit Card?
I do accept other forms of payment if you don't have a Credit Card or are in a country where it is difficult to acquire one. Please contact me if this it the case and I can suggest alternatives.

“From the first lesson, it was clear I had found a great teacher. Maneli's teaching style is professional, relaxed and very focused on what you, the student, want to learn. He has a great ability to communicate different ideas/techniques that can help improve your playing and gives you the tools (music materials, exercises, etc..) to do just that. Maneli has such a positive outlook on music and life in general, I come away inspired to improve after every lesson and can't wait for the next one.”
