Here's a new version of my piece called 'Us Against Them' played on a Baton Rouge Baritone Guitar X11S!
About this song: In 2002 after living in America for 9 years my family and I got a letter in the mail from the US government. It wasn't what we were expecting which was a letter that stated we would finally become citizens after waiting so long. Instead, it was a deportation letter and we had 30 days to leave the country or be deported. We were absolutely shocked as we considered ourselves American. We spoke like Americans and had identified with that culture. Our only safe plan was to try and claim refuge in Canada and we didn't know if they would accept us with our case. We had to sell all our belongings: our cars, house, paintings and instruments all within 30 days. On our journey to Canada all I could bring with me was what I could literally fit in my hands. In my left hand I had my first acoustic guitar as I just started to learn to play at the time. In my right hand I had a sketchbook, I was really into drawing at the time. If it wasn’t for art and music, I would not be alive today. Art and music has honestly saved my life. I know some of you can relate to this feeling. This is the story of “Us Against Them”.
TABs are available for this song at the tabs section if you want to learn this.
