Introducing my eleventh release as Casey Monroe, my side project where I explore well-loved songs through a lullaby-inspired lens. This time I chose The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel.

What has always stood out to me about this piece is its ability to hold both fragility and strength at the same time. The lyrics carry a sense of longing and reflection, while the melody feels almost timeless, like it was always meant to exist. On the nylon acoustic guitar, I wanted to bring out that tenderness, softening each chord until it felt like a conversation in the quiet hours of the night.

While playing it this week, I noticed how naturally the song invites stillness. Each phrase seemed to ask for more space, more room to breathe. With my daughter Skylar nearby, watching my fingers on the fretboard, the moment became tender and unhurried, almost like a lullaby meant just for us in the here and now. In the end, this cover felt less like a performance and more like a way of holding onto the quiet moments that give life its depth.
